– Chemistry Laboratory-2 Modernized with ₹49.96 Lakhs

 – 72 RO Water Plants Donated at a Cost of ₹2.36 Crores 

– Chemistry Laboratory-1 Modernized Earlier with ₹36 Lakhs

– Supporting for Infrastructure Development


Andhra University, July 24:

Divi's Laboratories Limited, a leading pharmaceutical company, has provided financial assistance worth ₹3.21 crores to Andhra University. In a program held on Wednesday afternoon, Chemistry Laboratory-2, modernized at a cost of ₹49.96 lakhs, was jointly inaugurated by AU Vice-Chancellor Professor G.P. Rajasekhar, along with Dr. L.V. Ramana, Vice President of Divi's Laboratory, and Y.S. Koteswara Rao, General Manager of Divi's Laboratory. The Chemistry Laboratory has been fully modernized at a cost of ₹49.96 lakhs. A few months ago, Chemistry Laboratory-1 was also modernized and provided at a cost of ₹36 lakhs. These laboratories have been designed to be useful for PG students and researchers. Essential facilities such as a fume chamber, dry oven, vacuum oven, storage for chemicals, and necessary chemicals for experiments have been provided in the laboratory.


Subsequently, at a program held at the AU administrative block, 72 RO water plant units were donated for installation in various departments of Andhra University. As part of the RO water plant donation, overhead tanks, machinery, and stainless steel storage tanks were gifted to Andhra University.


Divi's Laboratory provided these as a corporate social responsibility initiative with the noble aim of providing clean drinking water to students in departments and hostels, and to employees in offices at Andhra University.


Divi's Chairman Murali K Divi's Generous Assistance…

Considering the thousands of students studying at the government-run Andhra University, Murali K Divi, Chairman of Divi's Laboratories, generously provided financial assistance worth ₹3.21 crores to Andhra University. With the great ambition of providing Safe drinking water to all students, 72 RO water plants costing ₹2.36 crores were handed over to Andhra University. These have already been constructed and put into use in various departments. Similarly, laboratories are essential for students of the Chemistry Department. Knowing its importance, Murali K Divi fully modernized and equipped the new Chemistry Laboratory to the highest standards at a cost of ₹49.96 lakhs and gifted it to Andhra University. A few months ago, another essential laboratory for the same department was also modernized and provided to AU at an approximate cost of ₹36 lakhs. Divi's Laboratory has provided infrastructure facilities worth over ₹3 crores to Andhra University as part of its corporate social responsibility.

"Divi's Chairman Murali K Divi stated in his message that it's a pleasure that some members of their family and many employees working in our organization are Andhra University alumni. He added that on behalf of their organization, they have today provided this assistance in the form of CSR funds to Andhra University, which has been offering higher education to many and contributing to their progress."


The RO water plants provided by Divi's Laboratory have been installed as follows: 10 in the Arts College, 14 in the Science College, 2 in the Pharmacy College, 1 in the Law College, 11 in the Engineering College, 2 in the Women's Engineering College, 1 in IASE, 1 in the Distance Education Centre, 3 in the Researchers' Hostel, 3 in Women's Hostels, 10 in Boys' Hostels, 3 in the International Students' Hostel, and 11 in other offices. These have been strategically installed across the university to ensure clean drinking water is available everywhere and have been fully put into use.


During the program, AU Vice-Chancellor Professor G.P. Rajasekhar expressed happyness on behalf of the university to the management of Divi's Laboratory and its Chairman Murali Divi for prioritizing the provision of essential infrastructure to the government university. Providing RO water facilities throughout the university to ensure safe drinking water, for the first time in the history of universities, is a historic initiative. He stated that these infrastructural facilities would greatly contribute to the health and development of the students. He expressed happiness that industries and donors are voluntarily providing such donations and infrastructure during Andhra University's centenary celebrations. He requested continued cooperation in the future as well.

The program was attended by Rector N. Kishore Babu, Registrar Professor E.N. Dhanamjaya Rao, Principal of Science College Professor M.V.R. Raju, Divi's Laboratory CSR Manager D. Suresh Kumar, Professor K. Basavaiah, and others.
