 Governor of Odisha released the book  'Jagannath Simha' – A Satakam on Lord Jagannath as Narasimha

Visakhapatnam, April 28:

 Governor of Odisha, Dr. Kambhampati Hari Babu,  released the book "Jagannath Simha"  in Visakhapatnam.

 Authored by Dr. Challa Krishnaveer Abhishek, Executive Director of the Dean Van Leuven Centre for Peace Studies, and Smt. Challa Sruthi Sarani, renowned Carnatic vocalist, the book is a remarkable poetic offering dedicated to Lord Jagannath in his majestic Narasimha form.

"Jagannath Simha" is a Satakam poetry anthology comprising one hundred & eight devotional poems, each crafted as an English Keerthana. Blending the timeless spirit of Bhakti with lyrical English expression, the anthology brings forth the fierce yet compassionate image of Lord Jagannath as Narasimha, presenting a bridge between tradition and modernity for a global audience.

Dr. Hari Babu commended the authors for their creative innovation, stating that works like Jagannath Simha play a vital role in preserving India's spiritual and cultural richness while making it accessible to the world. He highlighted the need for such literary endeavors to foster harmony, devotion, and understanding beyond linguistic boundaries.

 Dr. Vankayala Venkata Ramana Murthy, Internationally acclaimed Mridanga Vidwan, was also present during the launch. 

Dr. Challa Krishnaveer Abhishek said  that the inspiration behind the work was to portray the protective love of Lord Jagannath as Narasimha in a manner that resonates emotionally and universally.  

Smt. Challa Sruthi Sarani shared that the musical structure of each English Keerthana draws from her classical Carnatic background, infusing the verses with spiritual rhythm and resonance.
